How do you eat yours?

Pomegranate - very messy and sticky. There has to be a knack to eating them and I haven't discovered it yet.
My Dad always took it apart then ate the berries/ pips with a spoon it took for hours.
Off work now until Tuesday, kids off on holiday until then.
