A Whole Turtle and Half a Dragon

The Obi Obi River runs through the town of Maleny, Queensland where I often stay when in Australia. On my way to the supermarket I paused at a viewing point high above the river and needed to use full zoom to get this image of an endemic Mary River Turtle. They live only in the network of rivers feeding into the Mary and are endangered so it was good to see this one sunbathing.

It was only after I looked at the pics on the computer I realised I had the rear end of yet another Eastern Water Dragon in the frame also! I'd been so excited as seeing the turtle that I completely ignored the Dragon! I thought about cropping it out but decided that it deserved its moment of fame too :-)
