Signs Of Autumn #3

From the same wall of Boston ivy as on the previous day, but seen side on one can see how the leaves are beginning to turn. Different parts of the plant, which encircles the entire outbuilding, are at different stages of turning.

Boston ivy (Parthenocissus tricuspidata i) is related to Virginia creeper, and is also known as Japanese ivy, or Japanese creeper.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:

The Mamas and the Papas' - For The Love Of Ivy  (1968)
For The Love Of Ivy was the title tune from the Sidney Poitier movie of the same name, and appeared on the band's fourth album, 'Papas And 'Mamas, recorded in a home studio, and therefore with unlimited time to self-indulge, to the discomfort of some of the group. Cass Elliot later said to Rolling Stone, "We spent one whole month on one song, just the vocals for The Love Of Ivy took one whole month. I did my album in three weeks, a total of ten days in the studio. Live with the band, not prerecorded tracks sitting there with earphones."
