Medical Miracle

My Mum had rheumatic fever when she was a child, and the valves in her heart were damaged. In the late 1950s, she had open heart surgery in Vancouver, hundreds of miles from home with no friends nor family close by to support her. Then in 1978, she had a xenograft heart valve implanted, again with no one close by. She told me she'd never go through surgery again. My Mum passed away in 1981 , a few days before her 58th birthday. She was a brave woman.
This is the card recording the implantation data.
