An afternoon visit to Dent and St. Andrew's Church

Maria stayed at uni this weekend.
We have enjoyed daily updates and she seems to be settling in really nicely.
Everyone is friendly and there are some good clubs and societies she has joined.
Paul and I went to Cowgill with Dent, a very picturesque village in Dentdale.
It is the birth place of Adam Sedgwick, 1785-1873, famed for Geology.
Dentdale is ideal on a fine Autumn day for capturing the seasonal changes.
We enjoyed toasted sandwiches, elderflower and tea in a nice old fashioned well run tearoom. There was gentle quite soothing music in the background.
We visited the Church there dedicated to St. Andrew, my own patron saint as I was born on his feast day, 30 November.
This church is somewhere we like to visit and reflect on the message of the beautiful stained glass windows.
The whole blip could have been all based on this, but I wanted to share the landscape with you as well.
The Ribbleshead viaduct looked splendid, as did the Three Peaks.
