words bud in my mind
flutter ceaseless from my lips
like leaves from a tree

what will their fate be?
flying from my fingertips
whose heart will they find?

aiming true and kind
written spoken each leaf slips
toward its destiny

sorrowful I see
how misunderstanding flips
what set forth refined

blind leading the blind
windy chance grips rips and strips
like leaves from a tree
