Mozart Mime

It was a fine Sunday in Salzburg, Austria. We saw the hometown of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the classical greats. We saw the streets where he spent his childhood. You could almost hear the music of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik in the air.

We found Salzburg to be one of the finest medieval old towns in Europe, criss-crossed with winding streets and market places, and adorned with architectural monuments of the later baroque era. We saw fountains, palaces, the stunning Domkirche Cathedral, gardens, churches, monasteries, confectioneries and patisseries. And towering above it all was the breathtaking 900 year old fortress Festung Hohensalzburg, the magnificent edifice that dominates the city's skyline.

The day tour from Munich to Salzburg was not disappointing; rather, it made me wish I could spend more time in Austria.
