Edgar Allan Pumpkinhead

It's hard to imagine that any city in Oregon is more autumnal than McMinnville. Seriously, Oregon blippers...if your city can beat Third Street of downtown Mac for an autumn feel, let's see it. This year, there are various characters staked to the poles and guy wires along the sidewalks. Here's Edgar Allan, looking a little...stiff. He looks like his choice for continuing his yoga classes...nevermore.

On our way up the street, we stopped in Third Street Books, a great little independent book store with REAL books, no Kindles or Nooks, or whatever other kind of electronic elements are killing our book stores, I found this book, Kinfolk . It looks like a great coffee table book, all about great recipes and slowing down for real entertaining and savoring life. The reason I was drawn to this is that the author of the book is Nathan Williams, and his wife Katie is a former student of mine. Nathan and Katie are co-founders of Kinfolk Magazine...Google it and check it out. Katie is THE nicest student I ever had in my 27 years of teaching. It is so great to see her doing well in life. I knew she would.
