Coffee on the Cobblestones

After church in Varazdin this morning - a town about 80km to the north of Croatia - and a candle-lit and real-flowers lunch, some of us got to do a bit of sight-seeing, led by Jonata, the local pastor.

Varazdin is known as “Little Vienna” among Croatians – it was Croatia’s capital from 1756 to 1776, and then got burnt down and the capital moved to Zagreb. A beautiful, quiet, cobble-stoned town, with a fairy-tale castle right in the middle, complete with a double moat (empty now) and a drawbridge.

Here we are, reflected in Jonata's glasses, sitting in the main square, drinking coffee, eating ice-cream, and peeling warm chestnuts. There I am, on the right, with my faithful camera.
