The southern sound - Härnösand (Södrasundet)

Saturday night was what we refer to as a home language meeting - even after 30+ years in Sweden it can be fun to meet up with some friends who have English as their mother-tongue and talk, eat and drink a glass or two. (Others call it a G&T meeting...) We slept over and ate a sociable breakfast and then took a walk on this gloriously sunny day.
The view here is the start of the southern sound (Södra sundet) and the swimming pool. Technically we are on an island here. You can bring a boat in from the sea via the northern sound, pass through the town via a seawater channel, and sail out along this pictured sound and back out to sea.
These crisp days are really valued as the winter draws nearer. Swedes (especially up here and further north) know what it is like to live without much sun so on a day like this everyone is out soaking up the warmth and light.
