Fixing the Fig Tree

It's not every day that Spiderman makes a house call to work on our trees. An overly large construction vehicle from the project next door managed to hook and break one of the limbs on our beautiful fig tree, which is at least thirty years old. Treeguy/JustSeanD to the rescue! The plan is to put in two permanent rods to hold the thing together while it heals. There is also a sling of thin metal cable to support some of the weight. The drill bit looked to be about a foot long (you can see it protruding from the branch, below the rod that is already installed). The tree won't make it through airport security, but it will make it through many more seasons of excellent fruit giving. A big shout out to my son for taking care of this!
