October's Ocean

To know that I sunbathed and swam in this bay,
just weeks ago, seems beyond a joke.
As I look at the sea on a dark grey day,
in fine misty rain that is quick to soak,
the wind blows waves in a salt-white spray,
yet the air's as balmy as bonfire smoke.
