Yats

... as Para Handy would say :-)

This fine array of Yachts are moored at Bellanoch Marina on the Crinan Canal.

Today the rain stopped early so we set out to enjoy what the forecast said (correctly) would be a dry day. We drove to Tayvallich and from there walked the mile or so over to Carsaig with Maeve the Deehound who had a paddle in the sea beside the pier. We always enjoy the walk and the views over to the Isle of Jura. The sun managed to peep out from behind the clouds for a while to give us a lovely morning.

We lunched at the Tayvallich Cafe and then drove back along to Crinan. We parked the car by the basin at the sea lock and walked along the Crinan Canal towpath for a mile or so. I do enjoy walking Maeve along this particular towpath. We like to go at least as far as the Print Wagon which is very colourful to look at from across the canal especially with some Autumnal colours in the trees.

When we got back to the Crinan end of the canal we visited the cafe at the side of the sea lock. They always have some paintings on display and it adds to the tea and scone (someone had a bacon roll).

Then some time spent sitting in the car looking over the sea lock and watching some boats come and go. Walking with Maeve, watching boats, a little lighthouse, the sea, colourful trees, and glorious West coast scenery with the sun breaking trhough. I couldn't ask for an awful lot more to make a perfect Autumn day :-)
