Selkirk & Strategy

Down to Selkirk today for a meeting about the Scottish Borders Cultural Strategy at St Mary's Mill - the Scottish Borders Council Library & Arts Development HQ. Next door is the WASPS Artists' Studios. We were a bit too late (and it was a bit too torrential-rain-foggy) for a quick studio visit into the studios - but it's a really lovely place - right next to the river. Certainly a creative hub.

The Cultural Strategy development is underway with much consultation. There's also online surveys to feed into the development. The website also has lots of interesting info on cultural activity in other places - from Orkney to West Kilbride.

A very interesting day (followed by a horrid journey back to Edinburgh in the rain) but, more than anything, just really great to see & hear colleagues from the Scottish Borders (& beyond) being their usual inspirational selves.
