Nicky and her Nikon

A very windy day

The day dawned bright and sunny but so windy. My mum needed to rest today as she was worn out with the previous day's activities so the rest of us headed off to see the venue where my niece is getting married next April. It is place popular with weddings and functions, set on a game farm amongst the rolling hills and sugar cane fields of Natal, about 40 minutes from where we are staying. It is in a very pretty setting and as we stood on the verandah looking out over the hills we saw a graceful giraffe walking down below. I took many photos of the beautiful green hills and cane fields.

After lunch the boys decided they had to have a swim in the sea, despite it being cool and extremely windy. When we walked down to the beach they were not so sure anymore as the wind was cold, but after paddling in the water's edge they finally decided to jump in and have a swim - it was considered too cold for the locals but warm by British standards! This photo is of Adam and Luke walking along the beach before their swim.

Later we went with my niece to the stables so that she could ride her horse, and we enjoyed meeting her recently acquired horse. The boys were saying how easy riding looked - they have never been on a horse - until she challenged them to get up on her horse. We all had a good laugh at how awkward these big lads were on her horse and how it suddenly did not seem so easy afterall.
