Oxalis..

growing on my windowsill. I bought this with a friend when we went to a talk about container plants. The lady had a magnificent one of these in a pot and I was delighted to be able to by a baby one. It is now blooming on my windowsill. The friend also bought one but had her mother in laws words ringing in her ears.. 'Bloody oxalis!!' nicknamed for ever after as she waged war with it in her garden. It is an excellent name for this one as the leaf colour is deep red but I won't let it escape into my garden..just in case!

Otherwise known as the Red Shamrock or Love Plant it seems to thrive on my windowsill and in the summer is happy outdoors. The leaves are stunning and are reminiscent of butterfly wings.
