HAPPY BIRTHDAY PIET HEIN

I awoke at 7 o'clock, the sky was still bright, without clouds. They came bit by bit, but later the sun greeted us.
I found this little spider in the garden, Mischa baked an apple-pie, and we were ready after lunch to collect our pictures at the Karolinum.
After that and only after that we ate the apple-pie, sung a festive song for the 'jarige' (birthday-boy): happy birthday to you, a little present and a bigger one.
Piet Hein told us that when the phone rang and he picked it up, he heard a voice congratulating him, but to his amazement in French language. He answered obviously in French too and then only it dawned to him that it was his friend Leonie, who enjoyed her break in France. Made us smile, of course.
After collecting the pictures Mischa and I walked to my favourite garden in town, where still grows a row of beautiful dahlias. She took her picture there.
Piet Hein stayed at the Karolinum to help Gerlinde with her exhibition, knowing it takes two to accomplish the task.

My haiku:

We count all the years
No matter how they went well
Or less to our taste

And the proverb:

H/zij heeft de honing opgesnoept, en de kat er van beschuldigd.

Translation: H/she has been on the honey, and has accused the cat of it.
