Skye Light on the Fairy Pools

I had travelled up to the Black Cuillin on the Isle of Skye with a small group of friends hoping to complete the famous ridge traverse. Unfortunately, the clouds were down low and the forecast was poor. On day 1 we opted to go to the lower lying, but equally spectacular old man of Storr. On day 2 we woke to the sound of rain on our tents and a quick look outside confirmed that the cloud was still low. However, with little time left on Skye we noted, optimistically, that the cloud base looked a little higher than the previous day and decided to head into the mountains. As we ascended by the fairy pools towards the central Cuillin, we were rewarded by a break in the clouds that allowed a beautiful shaft of light to illuminate the jagged volcanic ridge. Fortunately, as I had been busy trying to capture the beauty of the crystal clear waters of the Fairy Pools, I had my camera close at hand and managed to capture the moment before the clouds swirled in again.
