Wind.

Taken this morning from kitchen window, in colour! It's what we call a "Willie-waw". The wind picks up the water and it either becomes a water spout or a wall of water. Boats have been known to be picked up , turned around and even over-turned when one of these hits them.
The rain has partly obscured the effect of this one that came into the bay this morning, and when I tried to get the yacht (on the right) as the gust hit it, the camera kept focusing on the tree that was in the way. By the time I tried to do it manually, it was all over.
This afternoon, we have blue sky and sea, and hardly any wind, and no rain. Tomorrow is forecasting for high winds again.......
Heinemann New Zealand Dictionary: Willie-waw (say Willee-waw) noun (Marlborough Sounds) a sudden violent squall of whirlwind. (originally a whaler's or sailors' use)
