Two Spaniels and Two Horses Heads.

And no, we did not need to "make them an offer they couldn't refuse"! This morning, fairly early, we were heading for the Helix to see if we could catch the Kelpies and the sunrise together. As it happened, the park gate was still closed and we decided to wait believing that opening time was about eight am. A little later and fed up waiting, MaggieD took Rona for a recce trip while I stayed with the car. By 8.40 MaggieD and Rona were back and the gate was still shut. We now had a mobile coffee bar waiting with us so we decided to transfer across to the Falkirk Stadium car park and hoof it in from there. Eventually we got to walk the pups in the park and, after a chat with one of the staff, found a way round to the Kelpies. As most of that area is still under construction, the only access is via the canal towpath which takes you right on to the sea lock basin. As last we can take photos of the giant horses heads without pylons and cables interrupting the view! That was a great morning's walk and we met up with a group of fellow photographers including Blipper Missymoo. Next time we will know how to be there in time for that sunrise. (And maybe the contractors machinery will be out of the way!)
