Aluminium Buddha..........

The commisioning of a pair of new machines calls for something rather special as their first job.
The new machines, are a pair of DMU 5 axis machining centres, the image shows the working enclosure of the larger of the two machines, the "100 EVO" machining a bust / sculpture of The Buddha, while on the smaller machine the "80EVO" a bust of Darth Vader was taking shape.
Both items are bing machined from aluminium, the current tool in the machine spindle is a 12mm dia Taurus cutter, cutter speed is 12000 rpm with a feed rate of 8 mtrs / min.
