Swings and...

Went through to Edinburgh to see the unveiling of the Robert Louis Stevenson statue at Colinton which I heard about on the radio yesterday. There was a large crowd and Ian Rankin so photographs were bit uninteresting.

Instead I photographed this which is the swing in the garden of the Colinton Manse where Stevenson spent some holidays. Obviously the ropes and wooden seat are more recent but I am assured that the iron fittings to the tree are original.

Later we went to the Writers's Museum in Edinburgh and finished up at the Hawes Inn in South Queensferry. A real Stevenson day.
