Donna at the wheel

MrB came by with his mulching attachment which he uses to keep tracks and paths clear on his hunting area and on a some paths simply used by walkers. He does this voluntarily, at his own cost. He is leaving it with us for the winter as we can put it under cover. Need to look very carefully to see Donna his German Stichelhaar hunting dog, sitting at the wheel. Donna is a pure working dog, last night she was sent out to search for a wild boar that had been injured after being hit by a car. It happened just outside the border of his hunting area but the police called him out. Animal was not found but the car sustained considerable damage.

Another lovely day, Angie taking lots of good sunrise photos of the horses, dogs, cats and chickens but I went for the tractor shot as it was a little bit different.

Well I wrote too soon on Thursday, complaining we hadn't had a decent autumn storm for so long! Not good news as I am awaiting two flights from from the UK/Eire on Monday carrying very precious loads! Hope they don't get delayed or have a bumpy ride. I will always remember the 1987 storm. I was at a conference in Coventry and having to give a speech to about 200 people that day, got up early to practice in front of the mirror and switched on the TV to catch up on early morning news -  was amazed to see the BBC news being broadcast from a cellar with just one fixed camera. Drive back to West Sussex later in the day was a nightmare, the M1 full of roadwork cones blown all over the place and near Haslemere having to drive under a massive blown over oak. There followed a week without electricity and having to shower at work in London., No candles or camping gaz cookers to be found and a freezer full of rotten food.

Just hope the Met Office are still suffering from Mr Fish's drastic understatement back in 1987 and are now overstating the dangers.

Good luck all.
