I'll Be Your Mirror

Historically, more so than recently, I used to write poems/songs/lyrics that I loved into little books. Of course, it was with sadness that I looked out this particular one earlier, but to read the lyrics or to listen to the music of The Velvet Underground and indeed Lou Reed himself, is a wonderful thing. Whether you own any of their music or not, whether you rate them or not, there is something about the way Nico, who collaborated with them on their debut album, sings "I find it hard to believe you don't know the beauty you are", that gets me. Every, single time.
