warm up

For those who don't know the ways of ice hockey, the players have a 20 minute warm up before the game starts. In between, the Zambonis (the ice surfacing machines) come out to fix the ice.

So the Blip is the Munich team warming up before this afternoon's game at Ingolstadt. The game itself is too fast for my iPhone to take a decent shot.

We had a great time. A beer and a Bratwurst sandwich during the warm up. A beer and a steak sandwich during the 2nd break. A 4:1 win for Ingolstadt to move them up to 4th in the German league. A team which looks much better than last season - new coach as well as some new players.

The atmosphere at big home games is electric. Fans have standing areas at both ends. They sing & bounce around non-stop (except during the breaks when they rush off for another beer). The Munich fans went a bit quiet when their team went 4:0 down after 30 minutes, but that's understandable.
