This Seems a Large Amount of Drink

My caring daughter tells me today that she has read on the internet that old people (e.g. me) need to drink 1.6 litres of liquid per day in order to avoid being dehydrated.

There is a list of all the awful things that happen if you don't do this - she says mental performance deteriorates, risk of dizziness and fainting, headaches and flaky nails are just a few of the problems. I have them all!

So, she measured out 1.6 litres and filled my kettle and issued some very definite instructions that I had to use my daily ration.
