A happy Geburtstag

Another year gone...

But it was a good day. Lazy morning (bit of work but nothing tricky). Afternoon in the sauna etc suite in Neuburg a d Donau (not keen on folk in their birthday suits usually, but seemed ok today). Relaxing, anyway.

Then a superb dinner at Gasthaus Stark over in Wolkertshofen. That's a typical wee farming hamlet in the middle of nowhere, and a young couple have transformed the traditional Gasthaus into a wonderful place specialising in local dishes.

My main course was a venison & boar ragout, with Blaukraut, Spaetzle, and a baked apple with lingonberries. A red wine from the Ahr area. Yes, German red. Lovely.
