Hauling out the fishing boat over the jelly fish

So here I am in hot and very humid Kovalam - just along the coast from Trivandrum in Kerala - south India. The waves were brilliant for surfers this morning and the fishermen had just brought in a very meagre catch of small fish. A boat like this might belong to several families so there are many hands to help pull her up above the tide line. Lots of heavy purple jelly fish were caught in the nets, they aren't edible so they were thrown under the hull and in a line up the beach for the boat to be eased up over the sand.
