Deadman's Hand

He arrived in Deadwood, Dakota Territory (now South Dakota) in July 1876 and was a well known gunslinger and gambler along with his reputation as a lawman. During a game of poker on the 2 of August 1876 he was shot from behind by a Jack McCall when he died he was holding a pair of black Ace's and a pair of black Eights, this became known as the Deadman's Hand and is still the case in the world of poker today. His name was James Butler Hickok or as we know him "Wild Bill" Hickok.
