Cautious curiosity

Not much sun today, but the colours simply wonderful. Stormy weather supposedly spreading from the west and a wind got up in the afternoon, whipping the leaves off the trees. Will there be any left tomorrow? Frenzied snapping in a vain attempt to capture the magnificence before it's gone.

Manage to sneak up pretty close to a groundhog again early evening, but he moves so fast and is so well camouflaged that the shot of the deer wins out on clarity.

This doe and her two fawns look pitifully thin. The grazing on the golf course looks good enough, so maybe they're afflicted by parasites. I just hope they don't fall foul of the hunters who will be doing their best to annihilate them, migrating birds and pretty much anything else that moves, as far as I can tell. I'm told groundhogs go well with potatoes and greens, too.
