One daze at a time...

Sunday bloody Sunday

The weekend had been so great up till now.
The birthday party yesterday was a great success (discovered early that the key to a memorable kiddies party is to thrown an adult into the bouncy castle every 15 minutes, to keep the little piranhas happy and busy).
Today was a total wash out. The bouncy castle was more of a spongy castle for most of the day.
I should have never hired it for the weekend, Luca and Mimi had already assumed that this was a permanent (and imposing) feature in the back garden and they were both in tears when the castle-man came back to retrieve his property...
They have a very vague concept of ownership as it is (hippy kids that they are), but rental is even more difficult to explain.
The nail in the coffin was when Mrs Raheny finally remembered the flat packs that I had left to mature since that fateful trip to the yellow and blue uninspired homemaker's Mecca...
Well, that's it. The shelves are up and the only consolation is that I have yet to cash in on my DIY hairy hunter brownie points.
And the fact that Mimi is rediscovering toys aimed at the 6 to 9 months age group...
