Hanging On

It must seem , to some,
that they can never have
another Perfect Day.

No more drinking Sangria in the park
or feeding animals at the zoo…

But we prop them up on their pillows,
spoon feed them, drip feed them,
give them their pills to swallow.

We just keep them hanging on,
