Traditional Cider Press(ing)

... in the Tithe Barn at the Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury. We went over this morning in the hope of getting some owl shots; unfortunately, the promised owl display had been cancelled but there were lots of apple related things happening and we bumped into a few people we knew and generally had a wander round.

This is the traditional method of pressing the "mashed" apples through straw so that the juice runs, very slowly, into the receptacle below. You can see how the press is set up here, and here if you're really interested.

Other than that and the weekly shop, I've been under instructions to take it easy after yesterday and feeling a lot better.
