from Dunstanburgh Castle

A view from the base of Dunstanburgh Castle near Alnwick. This was taken around 8am, after a bloody cold night's sleep in a rented Clio outside the nearby golf course. We weren't meant to be inside the castle grounds at that point, but we followed an enterprising photographer up the side of the hill and under a fence, so it was his fault really.

After this it was a drive to Bletchley Park via Newcastle, Durham, York, and a two hour detour around the Oxford ring roads (both of them). I'm glad I wasn't driving.
