Goldfinches

Early morning is the goldfinches' favorite time for a bath, and I didn't have to sit on top of the washing machine to get this fellow, as I spotted him through the kitchen window and he obligingly waited for me to get my camera....

I finally made it past the gatekeeper to the see the doctor this morning, but not before she asked me to sign up to join the web portal so I could get lab results and communicate with the doctor via email. Saved me having to ask if there was a way to do just that, but so far I haven't gotten the promised "Invitation".

It is interesting to see how people organize themselves (and us) to make complicated decisions. The doctor leans against the wall (she is at least 6 feet tall) stares at her computer, asks a question, stares at her computer some more, and then comes to a decision, which in my case was to refer me to a specialist saying that she just didn't know....I suspect I could have done just as well on my own.

Michaela, the young woman at the tile and stone place, took us around to look and "finishes", and based on our choice for a "feature wall", made some suggestions for the other things, and gave us some samples to take home. She seems like a delicate flower to be working in what is basically a warehouse, but she's good at what she does, and seems quite at home traipsing around through huge slabs of stone, and with a bunch of guys driving fork lifts. Not to mention keeping us on track until we make some decisions. We could never have done it without her.

Sarah, the young woman in the kitchen/bath showroom guided us first to the faucets, showed us a lot of faucets, then helped us narrow it all down to two choices which we ranked A and B. We played with working showers, picked the spray we want, then moved on to cabinet and sink. Then we went to her desk, she handed us a catalog of very cool looking knobs and pulls shaped like stones, shells twigs and leaves, while she put all our choices into her computer and generated estimates for our  A and B choices (we did manage to sneak in a third...)  At some point early on, she asked if we wanted comparative prices and OilMan said, "No, we just want to get what we want..." I looked at him like he had just grown a second head. He must really hate that awful brown tile! We certainly could never have done what she did for us! We can't even decide between A and B!
