Comfrey

The comfrey is flowering in my herb garden. Comfrey, also known as knit bone because of its healing properties, is a great addition to a garden. Its pretty purple flowers are a magnet for bees and are set in luxuriant foliage. The leaves are full of nutrients and can be added to compost heaps or made into a liquid fertilizer which, although it doesn't smell attractive, the other plants do well on.
