Always Watchful ...

And for what, for who ...? Of course I'm here in Blijdorp Zoo. The meerkat is no part of the wildlife in the Lowlands near the sea.

Basically it has no enemies here. And the enemies who live here are all stowed safely in their own cages.

So relax! But no, the vigilance is in the genes. Just dig and then sitting again high on the hind legs, to check around for imminent danger somewhere.
