View from Carrickfergus Castle

We had a look round Carrickfergus Castle, round the coast north of Belfast. It was started in the late 12th century and added to variously after that. This is the view looking back towards Belfast.

After lunch we also visited a museum called Flame which is the gasworks museum of Ireland. I must admit I wasn't particularly enthusiastic about the prospect, but it turned out to be very interesting. We had our own personal tour - between October and Easter you're supposed to make an appointment, but we just turned up on spec. The staff were having a meeting so one guy called Brian very gallantly gave up the opportunity to stay in the meeting and spent an hour showing us round, and very interesting and entertaining he was too.
