Fire over Monticello

Reluctantly bade farewell to Massanutten and the Shenandoah Valley today and took a most beautiful drive through the back roads of Virginia to Charlottesville.

On to Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello - fabulous location on a hilltop and a fascinating tour. What I knew about Jefferson could have been written on a postage stamp, but I'm now determined to find out more. Seems he had the energy, talent and ingenuity of ten - multi-faceted is an understatement.

As we left, the sky seemed to be setting the trees on fire.
