Kitesurfers at Barassie

It had been a strange, quite dreich morning, and by the afternoon when we drove to Troon for our customary walk along the Ballast Bank one half of the sky was brilliant sunshine whilst the rest of it was almost black with cloud. When we passed Barassie Beach these kitesurfers seemed to be fishing all of the colour from the scene to create enormous gems of light. I used a little compact camera set on automatic.

This is my 80th Picture of the Day in the Glasgow Herald. This was my target by Christmas.
