Sun and Trees

This afternoon, I noticed that a cargo ship was entering Kirkcaldy harbour and went to watch. The harbour basin is only a few feet larger than the length of the ship and I had to admire the skill with which the ship was rotated 270 degrees before berthing.

The funny thing about it all was that there were 4 eider ducks calmly swimming out of the inner harbour when they suddenly became aware of the ship looming near and made a rapid about-turn back in again. Later, when almost all the inner space was occupied by the cargo vessel, the took to the air for a speedy exit.

I later went into Ravenscraig park where this tree silhouette was taken.
