The Impenetrable forest

Another “abstract” this time the “rain forest”.... We spent some time this morning seeing if we could open the trail up our power line to where the tree fell a month ago (in anticipation of bringing the rounds down to our woodpile). 20 years ago this was bare...Now it looks like this -the light lines against dark and the dark lines against light appealed to me in a funny abstract way but I’m blipping one that includes H meeting me in his red jacket and blue hat -he coming from the top, me from the bottom about 10 feet away. H was anxious to get chainsawing but I am convinced that it’s best to not take any unnecessary risks a week before we leave on a big long-anticipated trip to the real Impenetrable forest in the jungle to hopefully see the mountain gorillas in Uganda (more about the trip before we set off...) so he’s just marking them with a little saw, a bit disgruntled. But I’m happier. :-). ( we need our limbs and our wits...).

Our short trip here will be even shorter as the Gulf Islands ferry did suffer damage and is out of service for now so we have to go another longer route via Victoria back to Vancouver and hence leave earlier tomorrow. Life in the islands.
