No Fog on the Tyne

I met up with these three canoeists on the South Tyne.During the weekend kayakers and canoeists are encouraged to meet up and explore the 50KM of rivers which are swollen at that time by a Dam release .
It is a good weekend,however should people be going down a bit of a river and notice a part ahead of them that is likely to be above their ability,they are not allowed to portage.(get out and walk around the hazards)
This is due to much tighter laws on trespass.This could in my view lead to casualties or worse.
One reason I will not forget good fortune having a "right to roam " in Scotland
