Manhattan Sunset

I have so many blips today I simply didn't know which one to go for. We had an action-packed day and did so much!

It was rainy to begin with - so we headed down to see the wonder of Grand Central Station (contextualised for my children as the place where the animals go in Madagascar!) and it was quite a site - marble and chandliers everywhere! The level of detail is stunning. See here

We then wandered through the urban jungle of buildings touching the sky. Taking in the Rockafeller building, 5th Avenue, St Thomas Church, St Patricks Cathedral and ending up at FAO Schwartz - a fantastic toy shop with the piano that appears in Big!

The sun was out by this point, so we ended up in Central Park - a beautiful oasis in NYC and the back yard for its residents. The trees yet again were beautiful and I loved the urban / nature aspect. The day was topped off with sailing the remote control boats in the park and a wander around the playgrounds!

Our hotel was on the 30th floor - and we were treated to this fabulous sunset.

Last thing after dinner - Caitlin and I walked to get tickets for the following day so we could climb the Empire State Building - the view at night is pretty good! See here!
