Going Up - and Down

Months ago this structure appeared in one of my blips, though at a distance; here's a closer view. It's the National Lift Tower (was the Express Lift Tower), the UK's only lift-testing tower.

Out of service for 10 years, it was restored to full operational order. It has 6 lift shafts and is 418 ft tall (127 metres). Charity abseiling events are often held here - rather them than me! If you are interested in more info, click HERE.

Just visible at its foot is a corner of Northampton's Franklin's Gardens ( the distinctive gold and green), home of our Saints rugby team who are doing very well this season.
