Coming in from Cheltenham

Just snapped this one on the bus coming back from town on the way home. This is the line from Cheltenham and the North. Gloucester rail station has always been a bit strange in that the main line passes Gloucester but trains coming into the station leave the main line and then depart the opposite way to rejoin the main line either heading for Cheltenham and the North or Swindon and the South.
It's not popular with the train operators because of the change in direction and the hassle of having to leave the main line in the first place!

This arrangement has created a triangle with the lines and it has always been a real eyesore. Over the past year it's been cleared and a large retail park is being constructed. The first thing to go up, and opening in a few days, is a large Morrisons with a garage.

This looks a mess but other buildings, stores etc. are going to be going up adding to the prosperity of Gloucester.
