The Telegraph News Room

I had the opportunity to take part in a round table panel discussion this morning organised by The Telegraph and BAE Systems.

It was held at The Telegraph's offices on Buckingham Palace Road.

This is the news room where the newspaper and all the website content is produced.

Approx 600 journalists work down there and it is the largest open plan area in Europe.

In the olden days, each journalist was only expected to produce one article a week. Now its 8 a day. For the website articles the number of views are tracked and each journalist is expected to tweak and re-write to increase the number of screen views.

It was very interesting to see it.
