Montresor Chateau

Bad start to day 1 of the Loire holiday:-
Broke the valve on my tyre and had to replace the tube
Front brake binding - had to fiddle with tiny screws
Camera wouldn't work- flat battery, so had to borrow his Lordship's in order to blip. Very kind of him!! And that's before we set off on the cycle run to Montresor to visit the chateau there. On the + side, there wasn't a cloud in the sky and it was 37 degrees. I'm not really complaining, but it was actually too hot for cycling.
The chateau was dusty and had been left just as the last owner had it... a myriad of stuffed animals adorning the walls. However there was a piano there which had been played by Chopin who had apparently been a friend( or more) to one of the daughters of the Chateau. We all had a go on it . Unfortunately there were no pianists among the company.
Our meal at night in the hotel had 4 courses........ you never loose weight as a cyclist!
