Just walked past this when suddenly it dawned on me...

Orange strip = Holland
Blue smurf = Scotland

The Great Significance:
Underneath their orange strips the Dutch players are clearly of blue origin and are therefore Scottish at heart. Deep down the Dutch want Scotland to qualify and will graciously let us win tonight.
