Crumpled Water Walls

The middle of Swindon needed a bit of livening up, and this helps.

The designers Walter Jack Studio used a thousand slices of stainless steel, 'crumpling' them to create a contrast to the formal and rigid lines of steel and glass elsewhere in the town centre.

Water is a key theme, with the idea that it is at its best "when it’s not being controlled by designers but when you see a natural waterfall or when it’s tumbling over rocks... it’s much nicer to let the water play over these much more complex surfaces like it does when you see water in a mountain stream.”

Situated on Canal Walk, the water is also meant to echo the previous waterway (or maybe the incessant rain which has never gone away).

Always interesting to see how other blippers captured it too!
